5 of the strictest indoor plants

Among the huge assortment of indoor plants, cultures with strict lines and shapes deserve the title of the most versatile. They are suitable for offices, work areas, living rooms or halls, and living rooms. But to many, strict stars seem too unfriendly and prim. Some pride in such plants is indeed inherent, but by their nature they are far from being as inhospitable as the rumor has it. These are irreplaceable accents in a modern interior that can transform the perception of space and atmosphere. Incomparable and regal, these austere plants are not only the most expressive, but also the most powerful in their influence on the design of cultural rooms.

We usually remember how indoor plants, their lines, shapes and character affect the interior, only when choosing a place for them in the house. Some plants make the room cozier and more secluded, others cheer up and bring festivity, and others better emphasize a restrained work environment and somewhat formal. And if plants-optimists, romantics and cultures that create a neutral lush background are liked by everyone, then much more strict plants are often called aggressive, prim, cold. Their restraint, classic lines echoing with architectural forms and geometry, “sharp” angles and strict silhouettes really make a radically different impression. And accordingly, they affect mood and emotions in a different way. But do not consider them unfriendly – such crops are indispensable in phytodesign.

In the interior, indoor plants with strict forms are used:

  • as an expressive decoration of modern interiors, to reveal the style and lines that dominate the interior;
  • as a final, harmonizing touch;
  • as a graphic and geometric accent;
  • to visually expand the space;
  • as an eye-catcher for textures and materials, colors or motifs for wall and furniture decoration;
  • to emphasize the play with light;
  • for zoning and visual separation of space;
  • as a counterweight to furniture;
  • for introducing orderliness into an expressionless design;
  • as a focal point;
  • as a substitute for sophisticated decor and professional designs with multiple accents and accessories;
  • to create a special solemnity;
  • as an accent that concentrates attention on details and draws attention to the interior and its design;
  • in the role of a universal gardener that does not change the psychological background in the room;
  • as a substitute for large decor;
  • to improve performance, focus and reduce distractions in work areas.

And although strict plants are inferior in number, they have long won a place in the list of the most popular and “reliable” indoor plants.

In many ways, the perception of a plant – romance, a cheerful and lush appearance or strict stiffness – depends on the form of growing and forming the plants. So, almost all indoor vines can become strict if they are fixed on an appropriate support. Shearing, the formation of boles turns into strict accents and indoor laurels, myrtle, cypresses, boxwoods, and other representatives of woody. Ampelous succulents can look like a frozen architectural miracle in their hanging baskets … But there are also indoor plants, for which strict primness is a natural feature that does not require external intervention.

Let’s take a closer look at indoor plants, which are distinguished by the strictest structure and silhouette – real prim stars, regal, stately and surprisingly spectacular.
