Bougainvillea nude (lat.Bougainvillea glabra). The family is niktaginovye. Homeland – Brazil. Bougainvillea is a shrub with clinging stems. The flowers are collected in bracts, which are colored red, orange, white or purple. In the open field, bougainvillea is found in Sochi, especially in Sukhumi and Batumi. It looks very decorative, wrapping around the verandas of the houses.

Placement… The plant prefers warm and well-lit rooms. It blooms from April to June, but in warm and bright rooms it can bloom in January-February. In summer, bougainvillea should be taken out into fresh air. In winter, it is best to place in a bright, cool place at a temperature of 7-10 ยฐ C.

Care… In the summer, the plant is watered abundantly, regularly sprayed with water and a full mineral fertilizer is applied weekly. Bougainvillea is very sensitive to humidity and should be placed on a pebbled tray filled with water. In winter, watering is reduced, but they try to prevent the earthen coma from drying out. Young plants are transplanted every three years, adults – every 5-6 years.

Pests and diseases… Scabbards, red spider mites, mealybugs are dangerous for the plant. With an excess or lack of moisture, spotting appears on the leaves.

Reproduction possibly semi-lignified cuttings, if you use growth substances and warm the soil.

Note… Bougainvillea does not tolerate moving from one place to another, so do it only as a last resort. In order for bougainvillea to bloom in full force, it is necessary to shorten the old shoots by a quarter in February. In this case, new additional shoots are formed, on which flowers will appear later.
