Choosing a Christmas tree for the home

It is very important to make the right choice of plant. In the store, spruce is fed with special additives, and therefore even a weak tree looks decent. But after moving home, such a tree is likely to die.

You only need to buy a Christmas tree in a pot, and those that are sold with a lump of earth should be immediately planted in the ground. You should not take the plant if the soil in the pot is very dry or the twigs break easily. In order for the tree to take root well in the garden after winter, you should not buy German or Dutch spruces, they do not tolerate our winters well.

Conditions necessary for growing a Christmas tree at home

Once a big tree will grow from a small Christmas tree, but for now it requires certain conditions. It is necessary to put the forest beauty away from the radiators and closer to the window, spray the twigs twice a day and moisten the ground twice a week. It is better to take water for these procedures thawed, at room temperature.

The Christmas tree needs to be turned a little every day. During the holidays, you should not heavily hang the Christmas tree with toys and sparkles, this will make it difficult for the needles to breathe.

The best place for wintering a small tree would be a glazed veranda or loggia. In a warm room, the growing season will most likely begin, and if a sharp temperature drop is allowed in the spring, the green beauty may die.

Although they ate and love light, direct sunlight is harmful to such a baby and can burn the needles. The plant must be shaded, especially when young shoots appear.

At the beginning of January, watering should be reduced and the plant should be allowed to rest. But you need to make sure that the earth does not dry out. For conifers, both drying out and waterlogging of the soil are harmful.

It is very important for indoor trees to maintain air humidity. With a lack of moisture, the needles will turn yellow and crumble. And since the needles grow on the tips of the twigs, the needles will not recover.

Every year in the spring, to maintain shape, it is necessary to trim the tops of the shoots with garden shears. You need to start from the lower branches, after a week, the buds are removed on the second tier, after another week on the third, etc.
