Hanging zebra – herbal zebra – care

The family is commeline. Homeland – Central America.

The name of the plant “zebrina”, apparently, is due to the presence of silvery or white stripes on the leaves, running along the entire length of the leaves, like black and white stripes along the back of a zebra. The perennial herbaceous plant zebrina has small shiny leaves 5 – 6,5 cm long, multicolored above, purple below. This plant blooms in spring and summer with bright pink flowers. Zebrina is often confused with Tradescantia, which is very close to it.
