Health benefits of bee larvae

From the larvae of the bees, adults grow, which in the future replenish the bee colony. However, they are important not only for increasing the number of insects in hives. Bee larvae are also a valuable medical product.

Bee development stages

The development of the bee larva depends on where the eggs were laid. If eggs are laid in the queen cell, queens develop. The laying in the honeycomb allows you to get new workers. And from drone cells drones appear.

Brood is called eggs or sowing. The larvae of the uterus are laid. If, by sowing unfertilized, drones are formed, workers and queens are obtained from the fertilized eggs. The brood develops sequentially:

  • after laying eggs, they develop within 3 days;
  • then, the larvae of the bees appear. They form 3-5 days. During this time, the mother manages to be sealed with a lid of beech and wax;
  • being in a sealed state, the bee larva pupates and begins to spin a cocoon.

The organs of the larva gradually disintegrate, and in their place new ones are formed for the mature insect. At this stage, the development of a full-fledged individual is completed.

Diet of larvae

Health benefits of bee larvae

Only the hatched bee larvae have a good appetite. For the first 6 days, each future individual absorbs 200 mg of food. But each species feeds differently.

In the first three days, future drones and melliferous insects feed on royal jelly. In the future, they will receive protein nutrition of bee larvae in the form of bee bread mixed with honey and water.

But sowing of future queens receives only carbohydrate nutrition of bee larvae in the form of milk. It differs in composition from that with which future workers and drones are fed. Such nutrition of future queens allows you to get strong queens capable of laying up to 1500 eggs per day.

The composition of the larvae and useful properties

Health benefits of bee larvae

Bee larvae are widely used in medicine. Since sowing is gluttonous, during the stage of its development, it accumulates a large number of valuable components that have a therapeutic effect.

The composition includes substances such as:

  • fatty acid;
  • protein substances;
  • Vitamin D;
  • hormones.

Sowing strengthens the human immune system, increases the general tone, treats dystrophy, normalizes blood pressure, is used as a prophylactic agent for oncology, eliminates pathologies of the heart muscle and blood vessels.

Preparations based on larvae have an antioxidant effect and rejuvenate the skin. It is taken internally in frozen, dry, canned and dried form. But it is worth remembering that brood harvesting is done only in the prechitinous period.

Important:

Royal jelly is considered the most nutritious and valuable. Therefore, healers recommend using brood, since it contains the largest amount of valuable components.

The bee larva has unique medicinal properties due to the composition:

  • enzymes;
  • hormones testosterone, estradiol and progesterone.

This formulation allows the drug to be applied to the brood to regulate androgen production and restore prostate function.

Ways of using larvae

In its pure form, sowing is rarely used. More often, tinctures are prepared or canned:

  1. Medicinal tincture. For its preparation, eggs are removed from the cells mechanically. Then the larvae are crushed to a homogeneous consistency. The resulting medicinal product contains enzymes and hormones. Therefore, the shelf life of the homogenate is limited. In addition, the medication should not be exposed to sunlight. And if stored at a high temperature, nutrients will evaporate. It is better to store the homogenate canned, in a cool and dark place;
  2. Larvae with honey. This method is considered the simplest and allows you to maintain the activity of medicinal substances. In 10 parts of fresh honey add 1 part of the sowing of future bees in a ground form. The mixture is mixed well and stored in the refrigerator. In this form, the product can be stored for 6 months. It is important to remember that the more brood is added to the honey, the shorter the shelf life of the finished mixture will be;
  3. Breeding with glucose and lactose. A mixture is made in a proportion of 1 part of inoculation, 6 parts of lactose and glucose, mixed in equal parts. The prepared medicine dries up after 2 months. But useful components remain in it for 3 years after complete drying;
  4. Alcohol tincture. To prepare the tincture, eggs are not crushed, but poured over with alcohol. An effective preparation is obtained from seven-day-old future bees. For 100 gr. pure alcohol add 50 units. Insist 10 days in a dark and cool place. After a day, the tincture is shaken. When the mixture is ready, it is filtered and poured into a glass container. Store in the refrigerator for a year.

To replenish the protein deficiency in the body, the brood is fried in butter and eaten. Season to taste with salt and ground pepper. The dish turns out to be tasty and well compensates for the deficiency of protein-containing elements.

Противопоказания

The use of eggs in the form of a medicine has practically no contraindications. But, in some cases, a person should still refuse to use this product. Do not get carried away with inoculation-based drug treatment:

  • people with diabetes;
  • allergy sufferers;
  • pregnant and lactating women;
  • children under 12 years old.

Before using the medicine, even in the absence of contraindications, it is still worth checking the body’s reaction. In the absence of side effects, therapy can be continued.

Sowing feeds on valuable nectar, royal jelly and bee bread. These beekeeping products contain medicinal ingredients of natural origin. This is why brood-based preparations are so beneficial for humans.
