Methods for treating sinusitis with natural honey

Inflammation of the maxillary paranasal sinus is most often the result of improper treatment of the common cold. It can also be a complication of influenza, measles, scarlet fever and other infections.

Treatment of sinusitis with honey is effective at the initial stage of the disease before becoming chronic. In a chronic course, the cells of the mucous membrane lining the sinus from the inside are poorly restored. For successful treatment of a neglected disease, surgical intervention is required.

Symptoms

You can suspect sinusitis even before going to the doctor for the following characteristic signs:

  • runny nose lasts longer than 7-10 days;
  • nasal congestion is noted (in children it is so strong that you have to breathe through the mouth);
  • there is an unpleasant putrid odor;
  • discharge from the nose is purulent, greenish-white;
  • deteriorated sense of smell;
  • headache for several days in a row;
  • there is swelling of the cheeks in the area of the maxillary sinuses;
  • the area around the sinuses is painful to touch;
  • there is swelling of the nose, in some cases the eyelids;
  • body temperature rises.

All this indicates the inability of the mucous membrane to resist the penetrated infection in the form of viruses or bacteria, fungi.

The reason is a decrease in the body’s immune defense. This condition is observed:

  • with frequent colds;
  • with severe overwork and physical exhaustion;
  • with acute inflammatory processes in the teeth (untreated caries, pulpitis is a source of infection);
  • with viral infections (flu, sore throat, pharyngitis, laryngitis, acute rhinitis).

It is necessary to breathe honey steam once a day – at night. The duration of the procedure is 15-20 minutes. If the water cools quickly, it can be reheated.

For refueling an industrial-made inhaler, boiled chilled or distilled water is used.

The honey solution should have a strength of 30-50%. With a small sensitivity, a decrease in concentration is allowed – 45 grams of a bee product is taken by 5 milliliters of water.
