The use of propolis and honey for eczema

Honey for eczema is used much less often than propolis. This is evidenced by the collections devoted to treatment with beekeeping products. But its use is considered justified and effective, since the bee product as a whole has a beneficial effect on the skin.

About the disease

Eczema is a chronic skin disease.

An itchy, weeping rash occurs due to the body’s predisposition to it. Patients have a relative deficiency of the immune system.

Allergic reaction, nervous tension, disturbances in the work of the digestive and endocrine systems, infectious lesions of the skin and other organs – these are the main reasons for the start of pathological processes.

The neurogenic theory is confirmed by clinical observations. An exacerbation often occurs against a background of stress, mental trauma, and intense experiences.

An allergic reaction is caused by an increased sensitivity of the skin to chemical attack. In this case, contact dermatitis occurs, turning into eczema.

Any skin infection can be dangerous for a person predisposed to the disease: streptoderma, mycosis, candidiasis. Chronic foci of infection arising from various diseases such as cholecystitis, cholangitis, granulomas on the roots of the teeth, tonsillitis also lead to the appearance of a characteristic rash.

The benefits of bee products

use

Honey is one of the most effective folk remedies recommended for improving the appearance of the skin. It cleanses, tones, accelerates epithelialization. Relieves itching and pain. It goes well in recipes with other medicinal ingredients.

Propolis is not inferior to him in importance. Bee glue has a pronounced antibacterial effect. It is believed to be superior to all other beekeeping products in terms of antimicrobial properties. Phenolic acids, which are part of it, have an astringent effect, promote rapid healing of wounds and ulcers.

Propolis is completely harmless to the body, rarely causes an allergic reaction. It can be used to strengthen capillaries, relieve pain, regulate metabolism, and accelerate tissue regeneration. And also as a diuretic, choleretic, antiviral and antifungal agent.

Fighting Infection – Penicillin

penicillin

A mixture of penicillin and honey can be used to combat microbes that penetrate the surface layer of the skin, disturbed by inflammation. This recipe is used for severe infection, accompanied by pain, the formation of pus.

It is taken:

  • 10 g of natural honey in liquid form;
  • 1 g fish oil;
  • 2 g novocaine;
  • 500-1 units of penicillin.

Everything is thoroughly mixed until a homogeneous mass is obtained.

The dressing soaked in ointment is changed every day. The course of treatment takes an average of two weeks.

Cinnamon (externally)

This is one of the easiest remedies to prepare. Used as an ointment used to treat rash areas.

cinnamon

Taken in equal proportions by volume:

  • natural liquid honey or honey melted in a water bath;
  • ground cinnamon.

After mixing, the product is ready to use. Recommended for relieving inflammation.

Garlic (topical)

Another folk remedy for eczema is honey with garlic. The antibacterial mixture is applied to the skin in the form of a compress. It is left overnight under waxed paper.

To prepare it you will need:

  • boiled garlic cloves, crushed to a mushy state;

Ingredients are taken in equal amounts by volume, mixed thoroughly.

Another cooking option

Raw garlic cloves are grated or passed through a meat grinder.

It is taken:

  • garlic – two or three heads;
  • honey – 50 grams.

The ointment is rubbed into the affected areas once or twice a day.

Ingestion

Honey can also be taken as a remedy for strengthening the body. The biologically active substances contained in it normalize metabolic processes, digestion, and have a beneficial effect on the nervous system.

Below are two simple recipes.

lime

This mixture is drunk on an empty stomach during the entire exacerbation of the disease.

lime

It is taken:

  • juice from half a lime;
  • a teaspoon of honey product;
  • 100-120 ml of cooled boiling water.

Apple cider or grape vinegar

The tool helps to remove toxins and normalize the work of the gastrointestinal tract. Not recommended for acidity and ulcers!

Apple Cider Vinegar Mix taken three times a day during breakfast, lunch, dinner. To prepare it you will need:

  • 200 ml of warm boiled water;
  • a teaspoon of honey product;
  • a tablespoon of vinegar.

Grape vinegar with honey taken in a tablespoon three to four times a day for two to three weeks. The mixture should taste good – sour and sweet, when properly prepared, balance each other.

It is taken:

  • three parts of the medical product;
  • part of chilled boiling water;
  • vinegar to taste.

Propolis with mint and celandine

mint

Alcohol extract mixed with herbs will help relieve severe itching.… Such a medicine is prepared as follows.

It is taken:

  • 40 ml propolis (10% alcoholic extract);
  • 20 ml alcoholic peppermint tincture;
  • 30 ml of glycerin;
  • 10 g of powder of herbs or roots of great celandine.

All ingredients are mixed and infused in a cool pantry for two to three weeks. Then the mixture is smeared with areas of the skin covered with an oozing itchy rash.

Oak bark with propolis

The bark recipes below are suitable for both weeping eczema and sweaty feet. In the first case, the affected areas are irrigated, and in the second, foot baths are taken.

Option one (for irrigation of wet places):

  • decoction of oak bark (ten parts of water are taken for part of the bark) – 1 liter;
  • propolis (30% alcohol tincture) – 10 g.

bark

Option two (for irrigation of sore spots and foot baths):

  • decoction of bark (preparation: one part for five parts of water) – 200-250 ml;
  • 30% alcoholic propolis tincture – a teaspoon.

The bark in both versions is boiled for 15-20 minutes. It is infused for half an hour, filtered. The volume of the broth after straining must be brought to the original level. Then propolis is poured in, everything is mixed.

For trays, the mixture is heated to 35-38 degrees. The procedure takes at least 15-20 minutes. The course of treatment for sweating of the legs is 10-15 days. And the areas affected by eczema on the hands, head, and other parts of the body are treated until the acute inflammation is relieved.

Oak bark and herbs

The tool is used in the form of lotions. A cloth or bandage soaked in broth is applied to the diseased areas for one hour. Then the bandage is removed. In this case, the skin is not wiped off – the medicine must dry on its own.

Helps with neurodermatitis and eczema.

You will need:

  • half a glass of string herb;
  • half a glass of yarrow herb;
  • a glass of oak bark;
  • two tablespoons of 20 percent propolis alcohol tincture;
  • liter of water.

First, the oak bark is boiled for 15 minutes. Then herbs are poured into boiling water. The broth is boiled for another 2-3 minutes, infused for half an hour, filtered. Propolis is added.

Vaseline ointment

petroleum jelly

This ointment relieves acute inflammation, removes peeling, tones the skin and accelerates regeneration.

You will need:

  • petroleum jelly (suitable for use in veterinary medicine, and sold in 100-gram tubes) – 100 g;
  • crushed propolis – 10 g.

Vaseline is melted in an enamel container in a water bath. Propolis is cleaned of impurities and crushed. Then added to petroleum jelly. Everything gets mixed up. The mixture is warmed up again (about 60-70 degrees). Strain through a strainer or gauze. After cooling, it is laid out in a glass jar. Stored in the refrigerator.

Particles of the bee product can settle at the bottom of the container. They are harmless – it is allowed to apply to inflamed skin. And in the recipe with butter in the treatment of tuberculosis, they are even recommended for ingestion.

Honey for eczema of the hands, as well as on the head, can be applied to rashes and inflammations in its pure form. The bee product starts the process of tissue regeneration, reduces swelling, soreness, and severe itching.

We emphasize once again that bee products can cause an allergic reaction. Therefore, with a long course of treatment, the recommended dosages should not be violated. And with individual intolerance, such alternative treatment will have to be abandoned completely.
