Peat moss as a substrate for growing plants

Sphagnum moss is a living plant that grows in bogs that will turn into peat after accumulation and decomposition. Sphagnum is represented by many species. When dry pressed, it is valuable in mixes, especially if the pH tends to rise. It also makes an excellent substrate for plant walls or frames.
