Trichodermin – Hydroponics

Trichodermin is a biological fungicide, the mechanism of action of which is based on the suppression of the development of phytopathogens by the fungus Trichoderma (Trichoderma viride)… It is used to protect plants from phytopathogens that cause diseases such as alternaria, anthracnose, ascochitis, white rot, verticilliasis, pityosis, rhizoctonia, gray rot, late blight, phomosis, etc.

In hydroponics, Trichodermine has found application as an effective remedy for the control and prevention of root rot. The product is non-toxic and environmentally friendly.

Mechanism of action

Trichodermin contains spores and mycelium of the fungus Trichoderma, as well as the products of its metabolism.

The suppression of the development of phytopathogens is carried out by direct parasitism, competition for the substrate, as well as the release of biologically active substances that inhibit the development of pathogens and inhibit their reproductive ability. In other words, trichoderma fungi colonize the substrate, thereby displacing all third-party phytopathogens.

For Trichodermine to work effectively in hydroponic systems, it is highly desirable to have a biofilter where bacteria can settle and conduct constant activity. Otherwise, the addition of the drug to the nutrient solution should be carried out on a regular basis.

Dosage

The powder is diluted in a small amount of warm non-chlorinated water 1-2 hours before processing, stirred thoroughly and left to activate in a dark place. Then add the required amount of water.

The liquid concentrate is thoroughly mixed with the required amount of warm non-chlorinated water immediately before use.

Seeds and planting material are processed in the shade or under a canopy, avoiding direct sunlight. Treatments are carried out in cloudy weather or after sunset at temperatures above 8 ° C. Use the working solution within 6 hours. Non-toxic to humans and animals. Does not accumulate in plants, soil. Does not affect the taste of the product. No special protection measures are required during processing.

Consumption rate: 20 g or 100 ml of liquid concentrate per 10 liters of water. In the presence of a biofilter, the dosage and frequency of application must be reduced.

Manufacturers and analogues

The drug can be produced under the following names: Trichodermin, Trichophyte, Trichodermin BT, Fito-M, Trichostim Bio, etc.
