What is a mixture of honey with royal jelly

Honey with royal jelly is a rare and quite valuable medicinal beekeeping product. It is not found in food markets and supermarkets. And not every beekeeper can prepare this medicinal mixture due to the difficulties in obtaining and storing milk.

What is the medicinal product made of?

As the name suggests, the main components of the mixture are:

  • natural honey (traditionally, they use light varieties that look attractive and unusual for the buyer – from limes, white acacias, raspberries, sweet clover, alfalfa);
  • royal jelly (in beekeeping encyclopedias it is often called simply “milk”, and among the people – “royal jelly”).

Moreover, the milk is taken, which is called in a homeopathic dosage – only 100 gram of it is used per 1 grams of honey.

How the product is made

Experienced beekeepers are engaged in the preparation of a medicinal mixture directly in their apiary.

material intake

To do this:

  1. Milk is extracted from 2-3-day-old queen cells (you can make the medicine directly with the underdeveloped larvae inside – there will be no harm to health from them).
  2. Take 100 grams of pre-prepared honey. It can be either crystallized or fresh, in a liquid state – there are recipes with one or another version of the product in consistency.
  3. A gram of extracted milk is introduced into it. By eye, this is the amount that fits on the head of the match.
  4. The mixture is thoroughly churned in the house using a blender or mixer. The mass must be completely homogeneous. However, it is quite difficult to determine by eye – one gram is too little. Therefore, they are guided by the time – 2-3 minutes.
  5. Then the glass container is sealed (for long-term storage hermetically) and placed in a cold place.

The recommended storage temperature is from +8 to +10 degrees. It is better to choose a refrigerator for this purpose.

What does milk look like and what is it

Fresh milk is an opaque whitish mass with a characteristic pearlescent hue. Its taste is sharp, with a pronounced sourness.

The main secret of its long-term storage is honey, which is an excellent preservative. Without it, the milk dries up, acquiring a brownish tint, especially if it is stored incorrectly – in air and at high temperatures.

It is a natural product produced by the salivary glands of workers in the hive. Designed for feeding young animals of any type – both young queens and bees with drones.

The difference lies in the timing of feeding:

  • future “queens” eat high-calorie jelly all their lives in the mother liquor, until the period of emergence from it. The substance helps the sexual development of females and the formation of eggs inside the genitals, and also protects females from diseases;
  • workers and drones are fed for only four days.

The value of milk

Milk is used both in folk and official medicine.

This biologically active substance has a pronounced stimulating effect. But you need to use it in small quantities, since an overdose has a depressing effect on the human body.

By its composition, the product has a high calorie content. It contains about 18-20% protein compounds, 10 to 17% sugar, about 5% fats. The rest is a loading dose of vitamins and minerals.

There are bactericidal properties – for this reason, the young uterus floating in jelly is reliably protected from pathogens of infectious diseases.

How else can you prepare the mixture

An easier way is to use recently cut queen cells. During the period of swarming and active development of bee colonies – and this is the time from May to August, beekeepers often get rid of excess queen larvae.

queen cells

You can negotiate with any trustworthy beekeeper and get the queen cells in your hands, and then fill them with fresh still liquid honey and let the medicine brew.

The resulting mixture is stored in exactly the same conditions as when extracting milk with subsequent processing with a blender – that is, in a refrigerator.

How to determine the “freshness” of the mother liquor

But the freshness of the bee product is important here! Therefore, attention is drawn:

  • on the state of the wax cell – there should be no traces of mold, rot, mechanical damage;
  • the color of the jelly inside – for a fresh bee product, it is white with a pearlescent tint;
  • in taste and appearance – fresh milk resembles thick cream in consistency, and its taste is spicy with a sour note.

Why honey is good as a base

honey

Honey – not only preserves, allowing you to avoid deep freezing (namely, in this form the collected milk is stored and transported), but also gives the mixture a pleasant aroma and taste.

As noted above, bee food is sour. And he has a specific smell. The sweetness of honey and its rich aroma will eliminate this nutritional deficiency – not only adults, but also small children can be treated with milk.

How much to store and how to use

The medicine is stored – and this is the medicine that should not be abused – for a year. Provided that a glass or clay container is placed in the refrigerator.

Ingestion, especially by young children, requires prior consultation with a family doctor or pediatrician! The product is categorically contraindicated in case of intolerance to bee products due to a possible allergic reaction.

Under the age of one year, it is not given in any case because of the high biological activity – there is an effect on metabolic processes, the work of the endocrine glands, cardiovascular and digestive systems.

Dosage:

  • from one year to twelve years, a single dose is half a teaspoon (from 6 years of age, you can use it twice a day);
  • during pregnancy, breastfeeding and all adults – one teaspoon at a time, two to three times a day.

Why can’t you swallow

Another important point is that you cannot swallow milk, since gastric juice significantly reduces its activity!

For this reason, the drug mixture dissolves like a regular Validol tablet.

Some beekeepers place milk immediately after removing it under the tongue (in the amount of a match head). It is believed that bee jelly in this form has a beneficial effect on the genital area and increases male strength.

There are also pharmacy capsules, taken by sucking one piece two to three times a day 20-30 minutes before meals. In total, the course takes from 10 to 20 days.

Biological effects on the body

The impact on the human body is the most favorable. With the help of milk, apitherapists recommend fighting a variety of ailments, since it:

  • inhibits the growth and development of Salmonella, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus;
  • stimulates metabolic processes, which allows you to get rid of both obesity and gain weight with excessive thinness;
  • has a beneficial effect on the functionality of the nervous system (for example, eliminates fatigue, increases the ability to work actively, supports the body when playing sports);
  • helps the digestive system to work properly – normalizes appetite, functions of all organs;
  • has a positive effect on the heart and blood vessels – normalizes blood pressure, hemoglobin levels, blood glucose, treats coronary insufficiency (dilates blood vessels), atherosclerosis, lowers cholesterol;
  • accelerates growth, mental and physical development in children.

Under what ailments and conditions is it recommended

Below are the cases when it is possible and even recommended to take royal jelly mixed with honey. It:

  • postpartum period;
  • the recovery period after surgery;
  • beriberi and general weakness of the body, expressed in a tendency to frequent colds;
  • polyarthritis and arthritis;
  • angina pectoris, low blood pressure;
  • encephalitis;
  • depressive conditions, stress, asthenia and neurasthenia;
  • digestive problems in children;
  • pathology and diseases of the respiratory system, including bronchial asthma;
  • the fight against infertility and sexual disorders;
  • in gerontological practice to normalize blood pressure, strengthen vision and memory, normalize metabolic processes, treat senile urinary incontinence;
  • externally for skin, hair care, healing of burns, trophic ulcers and wounds.

In conclusion, I would like to note that the mixture of bee products described above is included in the diet of athletes and astronauts. Contraindications that you need to know before visiting a doctor: acute infections (except for influenza), adrenal dysfunction, allergies.
